      Miss Ethnic World International Ambassador
      Catherine Perez

Catherine Perez (Born May 7, 1987 in Los Angeles, CA, USA) became the first woman to be bestowed with the title of Miss Ethnic World International Ambassador on September 4, 2011 at the LAX Hilton. Catherine began her career in pageantry by representing Los Angeles in the California Ethnic World pageant in June 2011, where she placed 1st runner up and was invited to compete in the Ethnic World International pageant as Miss Southern California.
During her preparation for the international competition, Catherine focused her attention on "Campaign for a Cure for Graves' Disease." Being personally afflicted with the disease, she knows first hand the struggles that patients deal with living with an auto-immune disease. This not only includes dealing with the disease itself but the financial and emotional stressors associated with it. Catherine not only wants to find a cure but wants to lend support to patients who are struggling with depression and who are low-income. Her efforts in raising money through her campaign have benefited the National Graves' Disease and Thyroid foundation that use the funds for research and patient services.
During her year as Miss Ethnic World International Ambassador, Catherine will continue to promote her campaign and support other medical-related issues and education initiatives. She will also be working with her director in launching "Crowned for a Cause" which will help pageant queens promote their causes and receive funding to help them achieve those goals.
